 Lon Tay

Though he has yet to fulfill his dream of being “the next Jack Buck,” Lon Tay has always been a big fan of sports – whether playing them or covering them. The 1988 Villa Grove High School graduate attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with the idea of pursuing a job in the media sports industry.

After graduating from SIU in 1992, Lon joined WSIL-TV, Carterville as a sports anchor, covering the Salukis and Southern Illinois high school sports. Lon then joined WAND-TV, Decatur as a sports anchor in 1996 and spent the next six years covering the Illini and Central Illinois high school sports.

In 2002, Lon left TV to join The Hillard Agency, Inc. in Villa Grove. He is now part owner of the agency, which has offices in Villa Grove and Tuscola. While focusing on Commercial and Life Insurance, Lon also sells auto, home, health, farm and crop/hail insurance for The Hillard Agency, Inc.

Currently the President of Rotary and Chamber of Commerce in Villa Grove, Lon has always stayed active in the community. In his free time, he enjoys playing fast pitch softball and golf. He and his wife Jean have two children, Lucas and Andrew.

 Jeremy Werner

Jeremy has been living and breathing sports since he first saw Michael Jordan on TV in kindergarten. Growing up in rural Manhattan, Ill., about 40 miles south of Chicago, Jeremy grew up rooting for Frank Thomas to put the "Big Hurt" on baseballs, Steve Kerr to hit three-after-three and for the Bears to finally find a quarterback.

Jeremy Werner, UI ’09, covered Northern Illinois for the Dekalb Daily Chronicle before joining ConnectFM and is a former men’s basketball columnist and reporter for the Daily Illini and IlliniHQ.com recruiting blogger. You’ve also read him in The News-Gazette. Jeremy always wanted to venture in radio but never thought it'd come so early in his career. And despite his grandpa's doubts, he actually can find enough sports to talk about every day to fill three hours - and he loves it!

Jeremy also is a columnist for www.OrangeandBlueNews.com.
